Gathering Inspiration 🔮 & Competitive Analysis 🔎
To begin this design process, I started by researching small cannabis accessory boutiques, noting the things I liked and didn’t like, both in terms of brand ethos and visual design. From there, I starting sourcing inspiration images from Instagram and compiled these images into a moodboard. I then began narrowing in on branding elements.
Branding Brainstorm ⛈
Using information gathered from the competitive analysis of other cannabis accessory brands, I developed a brand purpose and mission statement that offered a unique perspective on the recreational use of cannabis . I then decided on which tasks I wanted my prototype to demonstrate. When developing the colour palette and typeface for this project, I made use of resources such as colormind.io and fonts.google.com.
Creating sketches/wireframes ✏️
Using Figma, I drafted rough sketches of major screens/interfaces. The goal here was to have a general idea of what I wanted each screen to look like and how the workflow would pan out.
Building the High Fidelity Prototype 🛠
Showing the process of going from sketch to high fidelity using the “Add to bag” and “Thank you” screens as examples of before and after.
Clickable Prototype 🖱
The final step of this design process was to showcase the workflows I had created via building a clickable prototype.
